SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the hottest topics we see on TV, various media channels and on the Internet today is the topic on immigrants. Most of the time, politicians and media talk about certain immigrants and how they negatively affect the economy. However, immigrants have sought entrepreneurial opportunity in US since the country was founded. Many of them start businesses shortly after they come to US and are more successful than non-immigrants. Why is that?
In fact, SBA has reported in their issue #396 of the Small Business Research Summary that Immigrants are found to have higher business ownership and formation rates than non-immigrants. Roughly one out of ten immigrant workers owns a business and 620 of 100,000 immigrants (0.62 percent) start a business each month. So why do immigrants start so many businesses? And why are so many of them so successful? What's their secret?
Well, one immigrant in particular has decided to find out the reason why and to do that, he started a brand new podcast. He calls it Immigrant Masters Unite. One of the main focus points on that podcast is to interview successful immigrant business owners and entrepreneurs to help other business owners and entrepreneurs succeed in their businesses.
When asked why he decided start this free podcast, Peter Kolat, better known as Polish Peter replied: "I came to this country when I was 14 years old, did not speak any English and like many immigrants, had to completely start from scratch. As I grew older, my entrepreneurial spirit kept pushing me to have my own business. However, being in a new culture and new business environment, I dealt with many business growth challenges that unless you're an immigrant, you don't encounter. Grant it, there were business growth resources but none of them showed me how to overcome my particular challenges. Since then, I grew a successful company and now, want to help others to do the same. If there's one thing I found out while interviewing some of the most successful immigrants is that they are persistent, resilient and don't quit easily. I hope that this podcast will provide access for people to succeed, learn, unite & see immigrants for whom they really are!"
There you have it. After listening to few of the podcast interviews, one can see what Peter is talking about. There are some amazing insights, strategies and success principles that these immigrants follow and whether you're an immigrant or not, you can benefit from listening to at least one of the episodes. On one interview, Peter interviews an immigrant who escaped his old country on a small boat with 34 other people and now uses this experiences to deal with fears and to succeed in business and life.
Currently, Peter is running a fun contest at mastersunite.com to get the word out about the podcast. You can always find the podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
