LÜDENSCHEID, Germany, January 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Sieper GmbH, Lüdenscheid, Germany, has detected that there may be a technical defect in the battery (item number 6711) installed in some remote-controlled vehicle models. As a result and as a precaution, the toy manufacturer is recalling this battery (item number 6711) and the three associated models from the SIKU Control 32 series: John Deere Tracked Tractor (item number 6761, 6762 or 6763), John Deere Tractor 8345R (item number 6771, 6772 or 6773) and Fendt Front Loader (item number 6769).
Under adverse conditions, the defect on the battery may cause the battery to heat up excessively. As a responsible manufacturer, Sieper would like to exclude the associated danger of overheating and the possible fire risk. Therefore the company is asking its customers to cease using the models, to remove the battery from the device as soon as possible and to return the complete product with remote control, battery and charging device. Items can be returned via the point of sale in the toy shop or directly via Sieper. Affected customers will of course be refunded the purchase price. Further details can be found online at www.siku.de/en.
"We would like to ask our customers for their understanding and assure them that we very much regret that this action should be necessary in the interests of consumer protection. However, this approach is the only possible way forward for us, as we consider ourselves obliged to only supply our customers and their children with products that comply with the highest quality and safety standards," explains Britta Sieper, Managing Director of Sieper GmbH.
