
iNACOL Announces New Webinar for Online Teachers: "Teaching Strategies from REAL Classrooms in a VIRTUAL World"

VIENNA, Va., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will host a webinar on Thursday, March 15 to share teaching strategies and tips for teachers instructing in virtual classrooms.
"'Virtual' teachers are still real teachers in every sense of the word, but their classroom transcends physical or geographical boundaries," said Susan Patrick, president and CEO of iNACOL. "Teachers remain the gold standard in high quality education – whether online or face-to face. Online teaching can present unique opportunities for instructional strategies, digital tools and resources for teachers. This webinar will provide strategies for online teachers to better connect with students and their families."
The webinar presentation will focus on how to ensure online teaching is innovative and provides a challenging, rigorous learning environment for students. It will explore how to translate best classroom teaching practices to online learning settings. The presentation will also share successful ways to create a social presence both as a student and a teacher in the online setting.
Presenters will include Christina Narayan, a teacher at Branson School Online, and Leanna Christians, principal of Branson School online.
