VIENNA, Va., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will host a webinar on Wednesday, June 13 to highlight steps being taken by states and school districts to implement online learning while navigating the changing landscape of education reform.
"There is growing concern over the divide between American students' current academic achievement and the skills and knowledge they will need in order to contribute in a truly global workforce," said Susan Patrick, President and CEO of iNACOL. "As federal education funding shifts away from integrating technology, states and districts must work to support the transition by adopting policy and practices that enable their students to take advantage of 21st century learning."
The webinar will highlight several state and district's technology integration efforts, as presented in a new report funded by the Illinois State Board of Education, which explores the key role in using digital technologies to transform education at the national, state and local levels.
The report's co-authors Dr. Tom Clark, President of TA Consulting, and Dr. Elizabeth Oyer, Director of EvalSolutions, will lead the webinar, discussing actionable policy and practice ideas that address key education reform goals, including efforts to strengthen science, technology, engineering and mathematics education (STEM), better prepare students for the globally-demanding workforce, and improve teacher effectiveness.
The webinar will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. For more information and to register, please visit: http://www.inacol.org/events/webinar/index.php
