In addition to USA Ryder Cup assistant captain Davis Love III and USA Ryder Cup team members, Zach Johnson and Matt Kuchar, the field includes professionals who live, train, play or have family ties to Georgia's Golden Isles.
Lucas Glover, Boo Weekley, Jonathan Byrd, Charles Howell III, Brandt Snedeker and Brendon de Jonge have committed to play in The McGladrey Classic. Glover, Weekley, Byrd, Howell and Snedeker all train at the Sea Island Golf Learning Center.
These impressive players have achieved some of golf's highest accolades. Glover won the 2009 U.S. Open. A fan favorite, Weekley is a two-time Heritage winner. Byrd has 3 TOUR victories and 28 career top ten finishes. Howell defeated Phil Mickelson in a playoff of the 2007 Nissan Open. Snedeker won the 2007 Wyndham Championship and was named the 2007 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year. Since earning his PGA TOUR card in 2007, Zimbabwe native Brendon de Jonge has had sixteen top 25 finishes.
