Inaugural Spire Natural Gas Fueling Station Opens

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- There are a growing number of vehicles now capable of running on natural gas, a much cleaner and more economical transportation fuel. As the need to power these vehicles grows, The Laclede Group, Inc. (NYSE: LG) is proud to announce the opening of its premiere Spire compressed natural gas fueling station near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

The Spire station near the airport is currently selling compressed natural gas for less than two dollars per gallon, nearly a dollar less than gasoline. Located on approximately one acre of the Super Park Lot C facility at I-70 and Cypress Road, the station is open 24 hours a day, initially fueling 160 fleet vehicles already on the road with capacity to accommodate a growing local and regional need. In addition to fleets, the station will also be available to individuals using natural gas to fuel their vehicles.

The St. Louis station is the first in commercial operation for Spire, which was launched a year ago. The Spire team stands ready to offer natural gas vehicle solutions in select locations across the U.S., meeting the full spectrum of products and services fleet managers need, including:

• Complete station financing with no capital outlay
