Indian Institute of Science Alumni Association of North America to hold its Second Global Conference in Chicago, July 19-21, 2013

CHICAGO, July 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Indian Institute of Science Alumni Association of North America (IISc AANA announces its second global conference in Chicago, July 19-21, 2013. Conference Chairman Dr. Sunil Kumar said, "It is a privilege for the IISc Alumni Association of North America to organize a conference to showcase the achievements and aspirations of the faculty and alumni of India's premier research institution in science and engineering. Chicago is an attractive location because of the number of active alumni in the region as well as the proximity of universities, research labs and companies that share many of the research interests of IISc."

The theme of this conference is: Building bridges between the Institute, its alumni and the world.  The conference aims to bring together faculty from IISc and its alumni from around the world with potential academic and business partners to

  • Promote exchange of ideas 
  • Showcase and celebrate the achievements and talent of IISc and its alumni 
  • Pool the intellectual resources of alumni and to strengthen their network 
  • Foster collaboration between all three groups that lasts well beyond the conference

The Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, the Director of Argonne National Labs, the Deputy Director of Oak Ridge National Labs, the Associate Director of the Institute, a strong contingent of faculty from various departments, will be participating, along with several distinguished alumni. The conference program has several world-class presenters from academia and industry, with many avenues for intellectual and social exchange.

About IISc AANA: Established in 2006 as a 501c(3) charitable organization in California, IISc AANA is the umbrella organization bringing IISc alumni across North America to give back to the alumni/ae, the Institute, to India and to the community they live in.
