SUGAR LAND, Texas, Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) is pleased to introduce our latest PECWeb tool, the Disaster Impact Tracker. This tool is available at no additional cost to existing subscribers of Industrial Info's PECWeb Database Platform. The Disaster Impact Tracker includes both weather-related and earthquake events for all industrial plants monitored by Industrial Info globally. This easy-to-use tool allows you to see not only which plants are currently impacted by a natural disaster, but also those that could potentially be affected, with the simple push of a button.
The tool relies on numerous third-party organizations to obtain the most accurate and timely information on natural disasters. These include the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System, the National Hurricane Center, Enflight and the National Data Buoy Center.
By clicking on the area of a natural disaster within the map, one can quickly learn details about the incident, including wind speeds and earthquake intensity. Industrial Info's cluster mapping allows you as much or as little detail as you like, allowing you access from the 30,000-foot overview of an area down to 1-foot details about plants affected by these disasters. Simply clicking on a plant location within the map will provide details relating to offline events and access to the full plant profile plus related details such as associated projects and more, based on your subscription. As with other Industrial Info GIS-based products, the abilities to pan and zoom within the map image are available, allowing you access to the information most important to you. The tool also allows you to manage which weather events you want to track by choosing that event from the control panel. Control selections to view include weather radar, buoy status, active hurricanes and other options.
"Our ability to provide a view of potentially impacted industrial plants globally and the actual capacity offline is very unique and something no one else offers in this format," says Trey Hamblet, Industrial Info's vice president of research for the Chemical Processing Industry. "How extreme weather events are impacting the more than 162,000 operational industrial plants we track across the world is very powerful."
With this tool, Industrial Info continues its commitment to stay aligned to the changes and challenges of the industrial marketplace that it serves.
