Infotecs Earns FIPS 140-2 Certification of ViPNet Common Crypto Core: Validating ViPNet's Unique Peer-to-Peer Encryption
NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Infotecs, a leading international provider of next generation security solutions, today announced the completion of Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) FIPS 140-1 and FIPS 140-2 cryptographic modules certifications from the U.S. government's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Infotecs' ViPNet Common Crypto Core Module was included on the validated list.
Recognized worldwide as one of the highest standards for security validation, FIPS 140-2 validation are publicly announced standards developed by the U.S. Federal government for use by all non-military government agencies and by government contractors. Cryptographic modules are subjected to rigorous testing by independent, accredited test facilities in order to achieve validation.
