Innovative cases set the tone for Accenture Innovation Trip
SAO PAULO, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- During the 3rd edition of the Accenture Innovation Trip, Brazilian executives, led by Roger Ingold, President of Accenture in Brazil, and of LIDE Inovacao, visited the country that has the largest number of startups per capita in the world.
During a visit to the ALL Group, the Avraham Livnat Group (held by TAAVURA), the delegation was received by Ehud Olmert, former Prime Minister of Israel and current chairman of the enterprise. The executive and politician gave precious tips on the success of an organization. As he sees it, a company's key asset is its reputation.
The group visited Hebrew University of Jerusalem and met with the Brazilian Renee Ben-Israel, VP for Intellectual Property at Yissum, a company associated with the university's innovation, technology and research. Renee is in charge of spotting university projects that have a potential to be patented. One example of his work is the creation of the pen drive, as well as the cherry tomato, developed by scientists at Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1973, when they were trying to get smaller tomatoes that would ripen more slowly and adapt to the country's dry climate and heat.
Among the inspiring cases, they discovered Netafim, a company that developed drip irrigation: one of the biggest advances in agriculture, created on a kibbutz at the end of the 1960's. They also visited IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries), global leader in the development and production of aerospace, military defense and commercial systems.
At Microsoft, the group heard about how executive motivation is essential to keep a company on the right track. Each quarter, the company reserves a week so that each member of the team can submit a proposal. This generates motivation and ensures that there will always be new ideas.
David Obean, President of Mobileye, the leading technology company in the field of imaging for automotive applications, talked about a range of products for assisting and helping to drive cars, and how the use of these resources offers innumerable advantages, including bringing down the number of accidents and reducing fuel consumption.
The initiative has master sponsorship from ACCENTURE and support from Embraer and Microsoft, with participation by PayPal, 3M, Construtora Even and Abramundo. Media partners are the magazines TOP Magazine and LIDE. The official providers are CDN, Maringa Turismo and PR NEWSWIRE.
