IRVINE, Calif., March 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- National Medical Products announced its J-Tip Needle Free Injection System has received an Innovative Technology contract from Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven health care company in the country. The contract was based on a recommendation of the J-Tip by hospital representatives with expertise in this category who serve on one of Vizient's member-led councils. Vizient reserves Innovative Technology contracts for technologies that demonstrate an ability to enhance clinical care or patient safety, and those that improve an organization's care delivery and business model.
The J-Tip Needle Free Injector is a U.S. FDA cleared, single use jet injector that administers lidocaine without the use of a needle. Through its unique design, the J-Tip can create an anesthetic effect within 1-2 minutes and last up to 15-20 minutes thereafter. By utilizing the J-Tip, healthcare providers can provide their patients an option that works quickly and effectively, giving healthcare workers and patients a more pleasant and comforting experience.
"We are extremely honored to receive this contract from Vizient as a new and innovative product. We look forward to the opportunity to work with Vizient members across the country with the mutual goal of providing patients with the best care and comfort as possible." -National Medical Products, Inc.
"Due to the number of products and services being released and marketed as 'innovative', member hospitals truly value the thorough review process in place at Vizient to help them identify products worth further evaluation at their own facilities," said Debbie Archer, director of procurement and leader of Vizient's Innovative Technology program for suppliers. "After a full review of the J-Tip Needle Free Injection System, Vizient's member council agreed this solution offers unique and incremental benefit over other products available on the market today, and recommended it for an Innovative Technology contract. We are pleased to award this new contract to National Medical Products, Inc."
Since 2001, National Medical Products, Inc. has continuously refined the concept of jet injection, a technology previously used by the military to deliver vaccines. By taking into consideration the depth of injection, energy source, ease of use, sterility, and the comfort it could provide patients, National Medical Products was able to create a self-contained, single use, sterile, virtually pain free jet injector we now know as the J-Tip.
