Inqune ends the quest for purple unicorns
Bold new training consultancy develops the employees tech startups need
NEW YORK, June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Inqune, a new training consultancy, announced today that it is open for business, helping cloud software startups bridge the gap between available candidates and hiring needs.
Even with the U.S. unemployment rate at 7.6%, employers in tech struggle to find perfect candidates to fill roles. It's a problem recently described by journalist Thomas Friedman as a quest for "purple unicorns."
Based in New York, NY and Portland, OR, Inqune empowers startups to grow quickly by creating programs to onboard and develop employees. Clients can rapidly address staffing shortfalls, hiring candidates who are great cultural fits, even if they lack requisite skills, and cultivate leaders who can later be promoted internally.
"I was inspired to start Inqune after seeing exciting new businesses struggle to grow," says Inqune co-founder Alana Kadden Ballon. "People are starting amazing companies, but soon find that they can't clone themselves; they want people who don't exist. Investing in employee learning lets them hire talented people and then teach needed skills."
Proven Success
Founded by Kadden Ballon and partner Katie Proctor, Inqune uses nimble, low-resource techniques to create customized, scalable programs providing a tremendous return on investment. Inqune has been running in stealth-mode since late 2012 with clients including FinancialForce, Mentii, and Informatica Cloud. Following implementation of their training program, Informatica Cloud saw a 30% increase in win rate and raised their average selling price by 10%, according to their VP of Sales Daniel Niemann.
A Long Partnership
Co-Founders Alana Kadden Ballon and Katie Proctor grew up together in Salinas, CA.
Kadden Ballon studied Business Economics at UCLA, then mastered cloud-focused training while leading international onboarding and enablement efforts for over a thousand employees at Salesforce.com and Informatica's Cloud division.
Proctor studied History at the University of Oregon and Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University, then honed her entrepreneurial and managerial skills by founding a non-profit and a parenting magazine.
