LONDON, Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In July 2016, the Chinese insecticide market remains stagnant and shows no signs of improvement. Expect for a few nicotinoid insecticides such as thiamethoxam and imidacloprid which have tight supply due to the coming of the peak consumption period for seed coating agents, most products have seen falling prices.
In particular, abamectin and emamectin benzoate products stick to their downward trends. The export markets are full and manufacturers are suffering heavier and heavier pressure from inventories.
The chlorpyrifos market is also in a bad shape. The market price keeps creating new lows, with less support for it to rebound but more unfavorable factors. Meanwhile, producers are suffering great business pressure, due to the slack demand in both domestic and overseas markets. Most enterprises are wondering when on earth the on-going slump in chlorpyrifos price will stop.
In fact, the whole pesticide market in China has been stagnant since Jan. 2016 influenced by the economic downturn. From the perspective of domestic product price, the majority of pesticides remain their low prices; from the perspective of exports, both the export volume and export value decreased in H1 2016, according to the ICAMA. This is expected to facilitate the development of Shandong Kangqiao's pesticide technical business.
According to BSM Chemical's public transfer statement, the company plans to form a "1+3" business layout that is centered in "4-dimethylntrobenzene – pendimethalin" and supported by "3-dimethylntrobenzene – methoxyfenozide / flubendiamide / topramezone". It aims to consolidate its current leading position in domestic pendimethalin market and extend into insecticide business.
According to China Customs and CCM, in May 2016, China's export volume of imidacloprid formulations fell by 16.15% MoM, almost unchanged over the same period last year.
According to the ICAMA, there were only four insecticide technical officially registered in China in June 2016, each valid for 5 years.
According to the ICAMA, there were altogether 24 new insecticide technical registered in China in H1 2016, covering 19 insecticide AIs. Of these, only one was registered in China for the first time.
According to the ICAMA, some issues in pesticide registration, like revise on the requirements for pesticide efficacy report, have been solved or will be solved. In face of the changes in pesticide registration, it is important for enterprises to make well preparation and take corresponding actions.
