Intelligence, Security Executive Linda Millis Joins SolPass
Former NSA, CIA and White House expert joins cyber security firm
DENVER, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SolPass LLC, the Denver-based technology developer of solutions for controlling cyber crime, has hired Linda S. Millis as Senior Vice President, Business Development.
"Linda Millis brings to SolPass a career rich in cyber security analysis during more than two decades of service at organizations including the National Security Agency, the CIA, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the White House," said Kent Schneider, the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
At SolPass, Millis will follow her personal passion for connecting the private sector and government organizations to solve cyber security issues while protecting privacy and civil liberties.
Millis said, "I believe that stopping this wave of cyber crime and fraud we see in the media every single day is best achieved with the private sector and government organizations working collaboratively to improve the security of access to computer systems. We need to start with solutions that will assure identity validation and control access."
Millis said with the SolPass technology solution, a user is allowed server access only after a biometrically-enabled credential for each user – a retinal scan, fingerprint, facial recognition or voiceprint – is further secured by a technology that encrypts each access session so that not even the user knows his or her encrypted password.
"My view is that cyber security is everybody's business, because this type of crime can be incredibly harmful to us all – from the largest business or government agency, down to every single citizen," Millis said.
Millis joins SolPass from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), where she was Vice President for Industry Programs.
Originally trained as a Russian linguist, Millis has held several public and private analyst and consulting positions. She began her public career with the National Security Agency and moved to increasingly responsible roles with the White House's Commission on the Roles and Capabilities of the Intelligence Community in the Clinton Administration, the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and the Central Intelligence Agency. Her private career has included senior positions with the Markle Foundation, a technology think tank, and Business Executives for National Security (BENS), a bipartisan policy organization, before moving to AFCEA.
Millis earned her Master of International Public Policy degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and her BA in Russian Studies at the University of Maryland. She is an adjunct faculty instructor at George Mason University. She will continue to live and work for SolPass from her base in Virginia.
