International and Local Electronics Industry Clients Pick McClenahan Bruer Communications
Australian design software company Altium and Oregon semiconductor company TriQuint Semiconductor choose the b-to-b technology agency for multiple communications disciplines
PORTLAND, Ore., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a good day when a boutique marketing communications agency can celebrate selection by both a technology company from across the world and another very close to home. Today, McClenahan Bruer Communications (McBru) announced new clients in both Sydney, Australia-based design software company Altium and Hillsboro, Ore.-based company TriQuint Semiconductor.
Faced with a drastically changed media landscape for reaching electronics engineers, Altium came to McBru based on the agency staff's extensive experience helping b-to-b technology companies navigate both online and offline community-building programs to reach and inspire customers. After conducting extensive research of agencies specializing in social media in the electronics industry, Altium traveled to Portland to meet the team and brainstorm a fresh, strategic approach, integrating both new and traditional tactics, to market its products in North America. Now, McBru works with both the Sydney-based corporate and Carlsbad-based regional offices to handle social media, traditional influencer relations, research, word-of-mouth and other marketing programs.
"McBru not only understands our technology and customers better than most agencies; they have the kind of modern marketing experience you generally expect from a consumer firm," said Alan Smith, Altium's associate director of corporate communications. "Even though I hired them for more PR-related needs, other divisions quickly found that they could assist us with everything from online customer research to advertising. And McBru was eager to help."
In 2009, TriQuint had a lot to celebrate. The Oregon Technology Awards System/Hardware Company of the Year made much buzzed-about moves in the mobile devices space that complement the company's leadership in networks, defense and aerospace. Yet the marketing team at the semiconductor company knew it had an equally important milestone in 2010: the company's 25th anniversary. McBru is helping the company with customer engagement, Web development, online advertising, lead generation and lead nurturing throughout the year.
"We were first attracted to McBru because of its philanthropic activities and participation in Oregon's high tech community," said Brandi Frye, director of corporate communications and marketing at TriQuint. "Since we've engaged them, we've come to realize how much experience they have in working with technology companies like ours around the world. It's been assuring to have a like-minded partner so close to us."
"Being chosen by two extraordinary companies to work on two dramatically different programs is both an honor and the kind of challenge we thrive on," said Kerry McClenahan, CEO of McClenahan Bruer Communications. "These engagements feed our collective passion for helping our technology clients achieve business results using an incredibly wide array of strategies and tactics, simultaneously. There is truly never a dull moment at McBru."
