Intervention Services, Inc. adding new mental health services

LOWELL, Ind., Aug. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Intervention Services, Inc., a leading provider of interventions for drug, alcohol and process addictions, will now be adding Interventions for Mental Health and Failure to Advance (failure to launch) issues. These new services will be aimed at the special needs of those not already addressed by other services, at the same rates.

After over ten years of catering to drug, alcohol and process addictions, Intervention Services, Inc. has been able to expand the breadth of its offerings with the enlistment of new, qualified licensed professionals.

The new mental health services will include intervention treatments for cases involving anxiety attacks, bipolar disorder, failure to advance or failure to launch, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychiatric medication, self-inflicted violence and borderline personality disorder (BPD).

In addition to these new programs, Intervention Services, Inc. also offers Family Aftercare Counseling to help families understand their new roles in their loved ones' lives and what they can do to maintain that role.

"When meeting with a family, I always start by sharing this analogy with the family: 'It's a dance, and we are going to dance around long enough for their loved one to process and shift into accepting our help,'" said Patricia Peters, clinical director. "Whether the dance includes anger, sadness or shutting down in silence, we just keep dancing. Maybe we start with a two step, move into a fast dance and then shift intro a stroll. It's different with each person and each family, but whatever reactions we encounter, we just keep dancing."

Intervention Services, Inc. offers a model designed to heal a whole family rather than just the addict. As addictions always affect entire families, the intervention has to involve to the entire group in order to establish a system of healing. This way educates families on how to validate and support their troubled loved one, but also gives everyone a venue to express their feelings.

While most situations involve the family intervening, sometimes it is the addict who admits themselves. In these cases, they are referred to the company's treatment branch, Sober Solutions, Inc.
