IntraCare Group Appoints Dr. Sherif W. Abdou as Board Chairman to Lead Next Phase of Value-Based Care Expansion

DALLAS-FORT WORTH, Texas, April 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- IntraCare Group today announced the appointment of Dr. Sherif W. Abdou, MD, MMM, FACP, FACPE as its permanent Board Chairman, effective immediately.

Dr. Abdou will lead enterprise governance, strategic direction, and clinical transformation efforts as IntraCare accelerates its 2026–2028 growth strategy and expands its value-based care platform across Texas and Arizona.

A nationally recognized healthcare executive, Dr. Abdou brings more than three decades of leadership experience in building and scaling physician-led organizations. He is the Co-Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of P3 Health Partners, a leading population health management company focused on Medicare Advantage and value-based care delivery.

Prior to P3, Dr. Abdou served as President and CEO of HealthCare Partners Nevada, where he led the expansion of the organization from five clinics to 52 medical centers, supporting over 1,700 specialists and 310 primary care providers and serving approximately 300,000 patients annually. During his tenure, Medicare Advantage enrollment increased by nearly 700%, and the organization achieved a 4-Star CMS quality rating.

He also served as Desert Region President for DaVita HealthCare Partners, overseeing strategic growth across Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico, and is widely regarded as a pioneer in coordinated, physician-led care models.

Dr. Abdou earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Mansoura University School of Medicine, completed his Internal Medicine residency at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, and holds a Master's degree in Medical Management from the University of Southern California. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Physician Executives.

In his new role, Dr. Abdou will partner closely with CEO Anwar Kazi and Senior Medical Director Dr. Andrew Carroll to guide IntraCare's continued evolution into a vertically integrated, value-based care enterprise, with a focus on clinical quality, physician alignment, and scalable growth.
