TEGA CAY, S.C., Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Long-time Tega Cay resident Gus Matchunis recently announced his candidacy for City Council with a platform that includes:
- Driving smart commercial and residential growth;
- Improving our roads and infrastructure;
- Enhancing smart development of Catawba Park, as well as other Parks & Recreation improvements; and
- Expanding communications and collaboration between residents on the peninsula and 'New Tega Cay' and the City Council.
The 2017 City of Tega Cay General Election will be held on November 7th. Residents will vote for Tega Cay Mayor and two City Council seats. Polls are open from 7:00am until 7:00pm ET.
Matchunis emphasized that his is a self-funded campaign, meaning he is not accepting special-interest contributions. "As a City Council member, I will not beholden to builders, developers or any other special interest groups. All of my efforts will be focused on ensuring that our peninsula and community remain beautiful so our families can continue to live 'the good life.'"
A 20-year resident of Tega Cay, Gus is married, has raised two children to adulthood here, and has three more young children in the Fort Mill School District. "As your city council representative, I will be laser-focused on balancing our City's growth with the needs of the residents of our community," he said.
