Intrusion Inc. Returns to Profitability in the Third Quarter of 2011- Revenue Reaches $1.8 Million

RICHARDSON, Texas, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Intrusion Inc. (OTCBB: INTZ), ("Intrusion") announced today financial results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2011.

Intrusion returned to profitability in the third quarter of 2011 after generating a net loss for the past three quarters.  Revenue for the third quarter reached $1.8 million, which was up 68% over the second quarter.

Intrusion's net income was $121 thousand in the third quarter 2011 compared to $203 thousand in the third quarter 2010 and a net loss of $473 thousand in the second quarter 2011.

Intrusion's revenue for the third quarter 2011 was $1.8 million compared to $1.6 million in the third quarter 2010 and $1.1 million for the second quarter 2011.

Gross profit was $1.1 million or 61 percent of revenue in the third quarter of 2011 compared to $1.0 million or 62% of revenue in the third quarter 2010 and $0.7 million or 62% of revenue in the second quarter 2011.

Intrusion's third quarter 2011 operating expenses were $0.9 million compared to $0.8 million in the third quarter 2010 and $1.1 million in the second quarter 2011.  

As of September 30, 2011, Intrusion reported cash and cash equivalents of $0.3 million, a working capital deficiency of $1.6 million and debt of $1.6 million.
