PITTSBURGH, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "Since 1982, over 682 children have died in overheated cars," said an inventor from Normany Park, Wash. "A car can heat up 19 degrees in just 10 minutes. If the outside temperature 80 degrees, it can get up to 123 degrees inside the car in just 60 minutes. Heat deaths can occur even the outside temperature is in the 60s. I came up with this invention in order to prevent tragic deaths."
He created a prototype for the YOUR BABY IS SAFE to remind the driver to retrieve the child before leaving the vehicle. This prevents a child from being left in a vehicle unattended. The system safeguards young children from harm and is designed to enhance personal safety. It also provides added peace of mind to parents and caregivers. Additionally, the invention is adaptable for use in any vehicle.
The inventor went on to say, "This idea would work with dogs and cats as well. So often people leave their dogs or cats in their car, and the heat can kill them so fast. Just opening a window is not good enough. If you see a pet locked in a car, and it is very hot, call 911, and if there is a delay, break open a window and rescue the animal. Save your pet. Do not neglect them. They cannot speak for themselves."
