Launches two new portfolios precision engineered for yield, prepared for risk
TORONTO, April 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - With heightened financial market volatility over the past few years and interest rates at historic lows, Canadian investors are seeking income-producing options that won't increase their exposure to risk. Invesco Canada is meeting this demand with the introduction of two precision-engineered, yield-focused portfolios under its signature Invesco Intactive brand:
- Invesco Intactive Strategic Yield Portfolio
- Invesco Intactive Strategic Capital Yield Portfolio Class
The two Invesco Intactive Strategic Yield Portfolios are yield-oriented investment vehicles designed to generate income with the potential for capital appreciation. The Portfolios strategically mix high-yielding asset classes with assets that have historically performed well in times of economic stress. Additionally, the Portfolios may tactically capitalize on yield opportunities and adjust to current market conditions.
The Portfolios will be managed by Invesco's trusted Global Asset Allocation team and designed based on the team's proprietary risk-management techniques. By investing in mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the Portfolios will offer exposure to high-yield, corporate and government bonds, dividend-paying common shares, preferred shares, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and other income-oriented securities.
"These new investment solutions are impressive additions to our popular lineup of Invesco Intactive Portfolios, and exemplify our ongoing commitment to offering the strongest investment solutions available to Canadian investors," said Jamie Kingston, Senior Vice President, Product Management and Development at Invesco Canada. "Invesco Intactive Strategic Yield Portfolios offer investors diversification that looks beyond traditional sources of income to enhance yield1, while being prepared for risk."
Commissions, trailing commissions, management fees and expenses may all be associated with mutual fund investments. Mutual funds are not guaranteed, their values change frequently and past performance may not be repeated. Please read the simplified prospectus before investing. Copies are available from your advisor or from Invesco Canada Ltd.
Invesco Intactive Yield Portfolios are available in a corporate class version (Invesco Intactive Strategic Capital Yield Portfolio Class) and mutual fund trust version (Invesco Intactive Strategic Yield Portfolio). The trust fund invests in a diversified portfolio of income oriented assets. The corporate class seeks to provide returns (before fees and expenses) similar to those of the trust fund through the use of derivatives.
1Versus traditional fixed income investments such as highly rated Government of Canada or U.S. government debt and highly rated corporate bonds of companies based in North America. In contrast, the Invesco Intactive Yield Portfolios have exposure to emerging-markets debt, high-yield debt and preferred shares, which historically have demonstrated higher yields (i.e. have made higher regular cash payments) than traditional fixed income investments.
