It analyses investment activity on a quarter-on-quarter basis with respect to the number and value of projects. The data is segmented by different industries, regions, stages of implementation, types of ownership, and types of project type for deeper analysis and insights. Lastly, it provides information on big-ticket projects. The investment tracker is useful for business planning and decision-making by evaluating the industrial activity within their own industry as well as other allied industries in their value chain and larger ecosystem.
Gist of the Investments and Projects during Q3 2015-16
In December 2015 quarter, large projects were announced in Chemical, Transport Equipment, under manufacturing sector, Non conventional energy under Electricity & Non-Con. Energy sector and Transport services under the Services and Utilities sector.
Transport services segment witnessed commissioning of many projects during the December 2015-16 quarter, the completion of these projects would add a total road length of km across the country.
Public sector contributed majorly to the service sector with highest amount of investments. The most valued project under services & utilities was the Light Metro Rail (Indore) Project, which was also a part of the top highest valued projects of the quarter.
Majority of the projects commissioned during this quarter were greenfield and high valued projects.
The implementation ratio - the share of projects under implementation to total projects - increased from per cent in July-Sept quarter to per cent in October- December quarter in terms of value of project investments. Similarly, in terms of the number of projects, the share of projects under implementation increased from per cent to per cent. The increase in the number of projects under the under execution stage indicates improvement in the project execution process.
