QUEBEC CITY, March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The organizers of the 2012 International Summit of Cooperatives invite future cooperative leaders to Quebec City, Canada, this coming October 8 to 11.
The Future Cooperative Leaders Program will bring together 230 young cooperators between the ages of 20 and 35 from some 90 countries. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with leaders and experts from the international cooperative community, attend exclusive events and connect with major cooperative players.
"We have created a program on par with the mission of the Summit. It will be an exciting opportunity to network with cooperative decision-makers, senior executives and officers from around the world. We look forward to offering participants this venue, which will foment high value-added dialogue. By gaining a privileged access to our sector's most influential figures, participants will expand their networks and their horizons," says Stephanie Guico, Program Coordinator.
A special forum titled "Future leaders in the cooperative world - their participation, actions and involvement" will be held, where young cooperative leaders with extensive experience in their activity sector will speak.
Participants will help draft the Summit's final declaration. This is a unique opportunity for young people from around the world to connect with their peers and solidify their interest in the cooperative movement and its development," says Stephane Bertrand, the Summit's Executive Director.
Future leaders: how to participate
All cooperatives and the associations that represent them may participate in the Future Cooperative Leaders Program by nominating up to two candidates per organization. Nominations must be submitted by April 30, 2012.
