Grano, will join the panel Walking the Walk: How to Effectively Inform and Engage Your Board at the Global Ethics Summit on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Westin Times Square in New York.
The session will discuss the 2010 sentencing guideline changes which place additional emphasis on effective oversight by the governing authority of an organization. Key questions to be answered include: What does effective oversight look like? What should the Board expect from its Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer and what can they expect from the Board? Joseph J. Grano is Chairman/CEO of Centurion Holdings LLC, an advisor to private and public companies. From 2001-2004, Mr. Grano was chairman of UBS Financial Services Inc. (formerly PaineWebber). While at PaineWebber, he chaired the Board of Governors of the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD). In 2002, Mr. Grano was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council. He also proudly served his country as a captain in the U.S. Special Forces (Green Berets).
