IQAir's New Edition Redefines High-Performance Air Purification

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- IQAir (www.iqair.com), the technology leader in high-performance air purification, today introduced its New Edition room air purifiers. This is IQAir's most significant upgrade yet to its line of residential high-performance air purifiers. The New Edition offers three advancements:

• Up to 25 percent more clean air,

IQAir achieved these advancements by focusing on the two most important components in any air purifier – the filters and the fan.

Most consumer air cleaners are only designed to filter large dust particles – those 0.3 microns or larger. But 90 percent of all airborne particles are smaller than 0.3 microns. IQAir's New Edition systems are the only residential air purifiers tested and certified to filter the smallest of ultrafine particles, down to 0.003 microns in size and with a guaranteed minimum efficiency of 99.5 percent.

Research has shown that ultrafine particles are the most dangerous air pollution particles of all. These smallest particles penetrate deeply into lung tissue and enter the bloodstream, increasing the production of atherosclerotic plaque by more than 50 percent. The result is an increase in heart attacks and strokes. Scientists have also found that even brief exposure to ultrafine pollution particles can result in allergic inflammation that causes asthma flare-ups. What's more, studies have shown that exposure to ultrafine particles increases the risk of lung cancer and also damages DNA.
