IRS Releases New 1099-MISC E-File Specs, W2 Mate® Updated

CHICAGO, Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- W2 Mate® software by Real Business Solutions, today announced that the 1099 MISC Electronic filing module is ready with latest IRS updates for the 2013 / 2014 tax season.  Among other changes, form 1099-MISC "Foreign Tax Paid" field has been added to the Payer "A" Record, under field positions 28-43, with the amount code "9". For the new tax season, the IRS 1099 E-File System will be available from January 21, 2014, through December 12, 2014. For 1099-MISC e-filers who want to run tests before sending live data, the IRS 1099 E-File Test System is available from November 12, 2013, through February 28, 2014.
