IRS Tax Preparer Regulation Leaves Many Unanswered Questions
The National Board of Tax Practitioners is offering a free workshop, which aims to provide the nations tax preparers with facts about the newly announced registration process
WASHINGTON, June 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Board of Tax Practitioners is offering a free two-hour workshop for tax preparers. Titled "How to Survive IRS Tax Preparer Regulations" these workshops are being offered in select cities throughout California. Over 45 workshops will be offered, in both English and Spanish. Attendees will receive detailed information on how to comply with the new IRS regulations. The workshop will also provide valuable industry details regarding client retention and the future of bank products known as refund anticipation loans and electronic refund transfers.
"The new regulations that the IRS recently announced are quite confusing to most people," explains Sonia Mendoza, Event Director of the National Board of Tax Practitioners. "It is a problem because there is such a lack of information, as well as a lot of conflicting information. With this free two-hour workshop, our mission is to clear everything up and make sure that tax preparers get the right information."
With preparers running financial risks for non-compliance, it is vital that they have a thorough understanding of the new regulations. Tax preparers have already had a tough year; many lost the ability to offer the client popular bank products. Because of this, many people will be forced to take their tax preparation needs to a franchise chain. Tax preparers cannot afford to loose the ability to prepare returns.
"This is a workshop that no independent tax preparer will want to miss," says Mendoza. "The information is vitally important to their business. It will answer a lot of the questions that people have."
