Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. Launches Community Aces Challenge

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. today announced a social media contest to award winning nonprofits a share of $50,000.

"At Isle of Capri Casinos we believe in being good neighbors through charitable giving and volunteer work. Our Community Aces program, named in honor of our founder, Bernard Goldstein, now includes the Community Aces Challenge," said Virginia McDowell, Isle's president and chief executive officer. "The Challenge is designed as a social media competition for nonprofit projects which will improve the quality of life of those who live and work in the communities we call home."

Nonprofit organizations interested in participating should submit an application on-line www.communityaceschallenge.com between October 25, 2014 and December 15, 2014 including an essay and photo describing a project they would like to build or create that will benefit the communities listed below.

"This is a two phase competition – the submission phase and the voting phase," said McDowell. "Additionally, we want to be sure that our smaller properties, located in smaller communities, have an equal chance of winning. As a result, the voting phase is split into two categories so that our smaller communities compete with other small communities, and our large communities compete with other large communities."

The first 150 eligible projects will be entered into the voting phase of the Facebook-based competition which will run from February 1, 2015 through March 20, 1015. Two $15,000 grants and two $10,000 grants will awarded by Isle's Community Aces Fund administered by the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation.
