ITA Will Promote 100 China National Tourism Cards to the World

BEIJING, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- From its Asia headquarters, the International Tourism Association (ITA) announced to the media that its, "National Tourism Card" International Promotion Program was officially launched, with the core goal to "promote 100 Chinese National Tourism Cards to the world."

The "National Tourism Card" program is carried out on a global scale by ITA, which was first started in China. Over two years (2010-2012), the plan will select 100 Chinese tourism cities and areas, with the help of international media, international conferences, international co-operations, and other international platforms to help them spread local rich tourism resources and unique culture. A "National Tourism Card" promotional week will be held in Japan and South Korea, Europe, the USA and the United Nations along with other series of activities throughout 2010. ITA's Official Website (http://www.itmacom.com ) will carry information on the program in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese and 10 additional languages. ITA is also cooperating with the world's top business news service agency to spread its message in more than 150 countries, in 50 languages and via 40,000 media points in order to provide strong media support for the "National Tourism Card" International Promotion Program. The aim of the plan is to establish 100 a worldwide "China's national tourism" brand and provide "wind vane" guide services for international visitors traveling to China.

ITA is currently chaired by the former Director-General of the United Nations Development Program - America area, Mr. Alfredo Jefferson. In order to address the world's largest tourism trends, better match UN Millennium Development Goals on the "global partnership for development" and "ensure environmental sustainability," promote world cultural exchanges and the integration of people around the world via development of the tourism industry, Mr. Alfredo Jefferson joined travel organizations from the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and more than 20 other countries' and international communities to co-found ITA. ITA will make full use of the groups' resources and many international platforms to promote the "National Tourism Card" program. Currently, ITA's global headquarters is in New York, its European headquarters is in London, its Asian headquarter is in Beijing, China, with its African headquarters to be established by May of this year. ITA's Asian headquarters is mainly responsible for the implementation of the "National Tourism Card" program.
