It's Time To Duel As The 2016 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game World Championship Will Be Settled In Orlando, Florida August 20-21!

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- After a year of intense competitive Dueling around the globe, 22 of the best Duelists and 12 amazing Dragon Duelists (players born 2003 or later) are left standing to compete for the titles of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) World Champion and Dragon Duel World Champion. Orlando, Fla. will host this ultra-competitive two-day tournament, presented by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI).

The invitation-only World Championship is the most prestigious Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG event of the year; legions of Duelists have been playing hard all year to make it to this final competition, hoping to be crowned the best Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG player on the planet.  Each of the Duelists in both events have already successfully competed and won at their region's respective World Championship Qualifiers, beating thousands of strong competitors from North America, Latin America, Japan, Europe, Oceania and Asia, for the right to represent their region at the World Championship. In Orlando, the reigning North American World Champion Erik Christensen, from Oakland Park, Fla., will be joined by five other players representing North America, as well as three players from Latin America: Central American Champion Brandon Aguilar from Pachuca, Mexico, South American Champion Joaquin Rinaldi from Buenos Aires, Argentina and Mijail Flores from Peru, who won the 2015 Dragon Duel World Championship.

The 2016 Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship also offers a full range of free-of-charge Public Events throughout the weekend for those attending, such as 2017 Regional Qualifiers, Dragon Duel Tournaments for players born 2004 or later, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, and Generation Duel. In addition to the spirited competition in the World Championship, competitors and attendees will be thrilled to meet and get an autograph during the weekend from voice actors Dan Green and Eric Stuart, the voices of Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series; additionally, the voice actors will perform an epic LIVE DUEL as their respective characters! In addition to a variety of amusement games for attendees, those looking for more one-of-a-kind experiences will find a green screen area where attendees can create their very own Token Card featuring all-new card backgrounds, compete with other attendees using giant cards in a Mega Duel, and Yu-Gi-Oh! fans and aspiring Duelists are invited to voice a character in the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh!
