(NYSE: JCP) will celebrate the grand opening of its new Dallas store in the TimberCreek Crossing shopping center on Sept. 30, showcasing the Company's style transformation resulting from an infusion of new and innovative merchandise concepts, brands and designer collaborations.

The 105,000-square-foot store demonstrates how jcpenney is transforming the department store experience with innovative merchandise, store environment, services and technology. In-Store Services and an All-new Salon

The new jcpenney store provides an assortment of services under one roof, including a jcpenney Portraits studio, Custom Decorating services for the home and a full-service jcpenney Salon offering an array of professional hair and beauty services. The nine-station salon has a one-of-a-kind, contemporary look and features an expanded assortment of hair accessories and products from leading salon brands such as Matrix, TIGI and OPI. Built for Energy Efficiency

The TimberCreek Crossing store demonstrates jcpenney's commitment to energy efficiency and is one of two stores jcpenney selected for inclusion in the Department of Energy's Net-Zero Energy Project. Under project guidelines, the store is designed to achieve energy savings of 50 percent or more compared with code-minimum energy-efficiency requirements for similar new buildings.

The store is also certified as "Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR," incorporating features such as:

• High-efficiency 12.6 EER rooftop heating and air-conditioning units.
• Energy-saving, long-lasting LED lights throughout the store.
• Double-layer roof insulation and spray-foam wall insulation to yield higher "R" values than typical stores.
• Radiant heating in the receiving dock area to reduce reliance on natural gas.
• Skylights with automatic daylight dimming controllers in offices and stockrooms.

North Texas Leader

Plano-based jcpenney is one of the largest employers in North Texas with 8,500 associates employed at 18 department stores, two distribution centers in Haslet and Cedar Hill and its home office. Grand Opening Celebration

A high-energy grand opening celebration is planned for Sept. 30, beginning at 9 a.m. at the store. During the ceremony, Store Manager Nic Hohne will present a $5,000 jcpenney afterschool access grant to the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club that will allow more children to participate in the Club's afterschool programs. jcpenney will also provide the Club with five $50 gift cards to help students purchase school apparel. The store opens at 10 a.m., and the first 450 customers will receive Sephora gift bags.

The new jcpenney is located at 6051 Skillman Street. Store hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
