JD Breast Cancer Foundation Praises Ambiance for Generous Donation

The Pink Carpet Gala celebrates the lives of women battling breast cancer. Each year, ten breast cancer survivors, the Pink Carpet Ladies, receive a complete makeover: new outfit, accessories, hair and makeup, and a special gift commemorating the evening's experience.

In October 2013, more than 300 people gathered at the Galleria to support the 3rd annual JDBCF Pink Carpet Gala. Among the benefactors was Ambiance President, Jennifer Downey. Ambiance clerks collected nearly $7,000 to benefit the Foundation leading up to the 2013 Gala through the sale of pink ribbons at retail locations with all proceeds going to JDBCF. "I think our employees did an awesome job getting donations up to that level!" said Downey.
The mission of JD Breast Cancer Foundation is to provide critical financial assistance, support and inspiration to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer. Many JDBCF board members have loved ones who survived cancer. "We are passionate about helping our clients in whatever way possible to help them move forward today and tomorrow," said Hayley Williams, Board President.

JD Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1998 with the goal of providing resources to younger women in Northern Ohio undergoing treatment for breast cancer. In the last 16 years, the Foundation has provided support groups, financial assistance, referral sources, information resources, community outreach, and legal assistance to help ease the burden of the disease. The Foundation currently focuses on providing short-term financial assistance to qualified individuals in Northern Ohio undergoing active treatment for breast cancer and inspiring those who have been touched by breast cancer.
