J.D. Power Ranks Good Neighbor Pharmacy Highest in Customer Satisfaction
Pharmacy network takes top honor among chain drug stores for 2nd year in a row
CHESTERBROOK, Pa., Oct. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Neighbor Pharmacy, a national independent pharmacy network, has been ranked J.D. Power's "Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Chain Drug Stores" in the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Pharmacy Study. This is the second year in a row that Good Neighbor Pharmacy has taken the top honor in this category, as well as its fourth recognition in five years.
The study, now in its eighth year, measures customer satisfaction across a range of categories including: prescription ordering, store, cost competitiveness, non-pharmacist staff, and pharmacist. The 2014 study is based on responses from over 13,900 pharmacy customers who filled a new prescription or refilled a prescription between March 1 and May 31, 2014. Customers were asked to provide responses to the survey between June and July 2014.
"Good Neighbor Pharmacy is thrilled to have once again been recognized by our patients for superior customer satisfaction," says Scott Robinson, Vice President of Good Neighbor Pharmacy. "At the end of the day, our goal is to provide the absolute highest quality of patient care possible. Knowing that our efforts are being recognized by those in the communities we serve is incredibly fulfilling for our network of pharmacists and their staff, as well as everyone here at Good Neighbor Pharmacy."
The study found that ensuring a continuous supply of medication; taking the time to clearly explain medications or costs; and providing customers with access to health and wellness care are topics of conversations with pharmacists that impact overall satisfaction the most.
Other key findings from the study include:
- Chain drug stores rank highest in pharmacist satisfaction (883), followed by the supermarket (877) and mass merchandisers (864).
- 29 percent of chain drug store customers who speak directly with a pharmacist purchase an over-the-counter (OTC) medication. Additionally, 59 percent purchase a non-pharmaceutical product to go with their prescription.
- In-store clinics or wellness centers have a large effect on customer satisfaction. In brick-and-mortar pharmacies, in-store clinics or wellness centers increase satisfaction by 42 points; increase the likelihood that customers will say they "strongly agree" that they feel loyal to their pharmacy by 6 percentage points; and leads to a larger basket of goods purchased in the store by 8 percentage points.
