Jen-Coat Adds 'Superior' AIB Certification to List of Plant Approvals
WESTFIELD, Mass., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Jen-Coat, a leading flexible packaging manufacturer in the food, medical and industrial markets, announced today that it has achieved a "Superior" rating from AIB International. AIB International's inspections are based upon a widely recognized set of consolidated standards that contain the requirements for achieving superior food safety in manufacturing operations. The AIB certifications are recognized by food companies as a measure of world-class manufacturing programs.
The AIB "Superior" rating joins the list of facility approvals that Jen-Coat carries including:
- ISO certified quality system, for the past 14 years in a row
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified chain-of-custody system for guiding forest management toward sustainable outcomes
- Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) certified chain-of-custody system to track content from certified forests, recycled fiber and other sources of fiber through production and manufacturing to the end product
- Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) certified chain-of-custody system for ensuring that paper-based packaging material come from forests that are managed sustainably
Jen-Coat is committed to sustainable forest management, land fill reduction, packaging recyclability, green packaging and environmentally friendly paper and plastic production practices.
The AIB Superior rating is the highest level awarded by AIB International for the rigorous Food Contact Packaging Standard. The rating was achieved after a three-day audit. The rating confirms that Jen-Coat maintains its equipment, facility, quality system, packaging materials, and products in a clean, wholesome and safe manner and is fit for producing food-contact packaging materials in its operations.
