Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Gavin Newsom in Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet on Gender Equity, Partnership, and Future of American Leadership

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This Tuesday, Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom will sit down for a special conversation on gender equity, leadership and the need for partnership between men and women, in honor of author Marianne Schnall's new book What Will It Take to Make a Woman President?: Conversations About Women, Leadership and Power. Both Newsoms appear in the book, which features interviews with various thought leaders in an attempt to discover the obstacles that hold women back in America.

The private event, moderated by TV host Amanda de Cadenet of The Conversation, will take place at The Matrix in San Francisco. The discussion will also be viewable live on The Conversation's website.

During the evening, Newsom will formally announce a brand refresh for her organization, The Representation Project (formerly known as MissRepresentation.org), which is stepping into a new name and bolder agenda, one that requires all of us working together, girls and boys, women and men, to realize our human potential.

The following day, December 4th, Newsom will expand on the topic during a special session at TEDWomen in San Francisco.
