Jerry Kelly Heating and Air Conditioning Helps Family in Need

SAINT CHARLES, Mo., March 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lizzy Franklin was born with Down syndrome and received therapy since she was three months old.  She fought constantly to accomplish minor tasks of everyday life.  In 2009, at the age of 4, she confronted another dreadful diagnosis:  acute Lymphatic Leukemia.  Then, another disaster. Last fall, the family discovered that bad air quality in their home was causing Lizzy to get constantly sick.  When the Kelly family heard about it, they did more than offer sympathy. They drew upon their expertise, and took action. 

Jerry Kelly experts classified the home's air quality as "medium-bad."  It caused Lizzy's father, Dale, to experience congestion and watery eyes. Lizzy however, was fighting constant battles with respiratory infections and a case of pneumonia that put her in the hospital for two weeks.  The evaluation showed that the entire heating and air system was contaminated and needed complete replacement.  It all seemed hopeless.

The Jerry Kelly family dedicated a team of experts to the Franklin family and installed brand new equipment in their home, including an air purification system. This eliminated the cause of Lizzy's pneumonia: bacteria, mold and virus.

"We went out and looked at the severity of the situation and realized that it was such a terrible sequence of events that we had to do something about it," says Jill Kelly, daughter of Jerry Kelly.  "We are proud to help a member of our community and thank the support of our customers who made this possible."

Since the installation of the new unit, the Franklin family says Lizzy has not had to take antibiotics or visit the hospital.  

"When I learned that the cause of Lizzy's hospital stay was our own home, I was devastated," says Belinda Franklin, Lizzy's mother. "The people at Jerry Kelly did more than donate a heating and air system, they saved our daughter's life, and they will always be in our hearts."

The Franklins wrote a touching, hand-written note to Jerry Kelly, thanking the company of their generosity. "The Franklin family touched our hearts," said Jill Kelly. "How could we not help?"
