Efforts Continue to Restore Remaining Customers

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Nov. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) continues its restoration efforts with more than 98 percent of customers restored to service.  JCP&L urges any customer who has not yet reported their outage to do so at 1-888-544-4877.  

Beginning today, JCP&L will have live customer service representatives calling customers to determine if their power has been restored.  This process replaces the automated customer messaging system as the company nears completion of its restoration work.

More than 695 crews throughout northern New Jersey continue to respond to more than 2,000 damage locations as a result of the storm.  These are widely scattered outages primarily affecting small pockets or customers and individual customers due to localized damage to the electric service to their home or property.  Crews will continue to work as quickly and safely as possible until these remaining customers are restored.
