JobCircle.com to Host 8th Annual Grand Slam Career Fair at Citizens Bank Park
Philadelphia's largest career fair in 2 years indicates positive hiring momentum
WEST CHESTER, Pa., June 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As further proof of the rebounding local hiring market, JobCircle today announced that jobseekers in the Philadelphia region will have an opportunity to meet with over 60 companies at the 8th Annual Grand Slam Career Fair at Citizens Bank Park. Employers in the Greater Philadelphia area will be recruiting candidates in all industries and experience levels at this event.
Philadelphia's unemployment rate hovers at 8.3%, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, down from 10.7% in January 2011. The higher than usual employer participation rate at JobCircle.com's hiring event confirms that employers are looking to add additional workers to their staff, as this event will be the largest commercial career fair in the Philadelphia area in over 2 years.
"We've been hosting career fair events since 2003," says Joseph Stubblebine, President & Co-Founder of JobCircle.com, "and the enrollment rate for this event has exceeded even our expectations." Stubblebine indicated that he hopes that this is a sign that Philadelphia's employment outlook will continue to improve.
Sponsored by Citizens Bank, the JobCircle.com Grand Slam Career Fair is free of charge, includes free parking, free resume critiques, and will feature a guest appearance by the Phillie Phanatic.
"We're fortunate to have some great partners for this event," says Matt Shelly, Career Fair Coordinator. Several Clear Channel Communications, Inc. stations, including Q102, Radio 104.5, and The Mix 106.1 have donated radio time. WPHL17, a Tribune Company, is also assisting by contributing broadcast time as part of their efforts to help jobseekers in the Greater Philadelphia area find work. Additionally, PA CareerLink and Right Management Group, a talent and career management consulting firm owned by ManPower, are providing volunteers to provide free resume critiques.
A wide selection of hiring companies are attending, including:
Citizens Bank, USA Intern LLC, Firstrust Savings Bank, Authentic Bartending School, Broadview Networks, PeopleShare, Sanford-Brown Institute, Wells Fargo, Philadelphia Gas Works, Enterprise Holdings, Philadelphia Job Corps Life Science Institute, Marketplace Philadelphia Management, Progressive Business Publications, CATCH, Inc., Catalyst 360, Origlio Beverage, Devereux New Jersey, Fastenal Co, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Prudential, Gwynedd-Mercy College, Avalon Carpet Tile and Flooring, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Devon Financial Partners, LLC, Community Interactions, Inc., Coca-Cola Refreshments, PA Army National Guard, Securitas Security Services, Arby's, Wendy's International Inc, Quest Diagnostics, AT&T, Abraxas Youth & Family Services, FluidEdge Consulting, Aflac, Penndot, Sovereign Bank, Extendicare and many more.
