Joe Hand Promotions Named Exclusive TV Distributor For Golovkin vs. Lemieux Pay-Per-View Championship
FEASTERVILLE, Pa., Sept. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Joe Hand Promotions, Inc., the nation's premier TV distributor for closed-circuit and pay-per-view events for commercial establishments, announced today that it will be the exclusive distributor throughout the United States for the world middleweight championship between Gennady "GGG" Golovkin and David Lemieux on Saturday, Oct. 17.
When Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), the WBA, IBO and WBC "Interim" Middleweight Champion, faces Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs), the IBF Middleweight title holder, it will be for the World Middleweight Championship Title Unification at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden. It is the fight fans have been waiting for, promising all-out action from the moment the first bell rings.
The championship event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9 p.m. ET /6 p.m. PT, and delivered to commercial establishments by Joe Hand Promotions.
Currently Golovkin, known to fans as "Triple G," holds the highest knockout ratio (91%) in middleweight championship history, earning a reputation as boxing's most exciting fighter. Also, in the roughly 10 years that Madison Square Garden has conducted a ticket presale, the Golovkin-Lemieux card has done the biggest business for a fight by selling over 6,000 tickets in two days .
Golovkin's willingness to fight at destinations in both the U.S. and Europe has enabled him to emerge as one of the most marketable television attractions worldwide, setting venue attendance records and delivering tremendous TV ratings. He is currently ranked number three by ESPN.com on their Pound For Pound list with Ring Magazine also placing him at No. 4.
Already the exclusive commercial TV distributor for the UFC since 2001, Joe Hand Promotions will deliver the pay-per-view championship fight to their customer base that includes over 4,000 sports-oriented commercial establishments, such as sports bars, restaurants and casinos.
