BERRYVILLE, Ark. and NEW YORK, April 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's most popular Catholic Recording Artist, John Michael Talbot, has announced a special digital release of his long-awaited new CD, "Worship and Bow Down," for his fans this Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.
"Worship and Bow Down" received national attention this past February when Talbot, dubbed the "Techno Monk," opened the doors of the recording studio in Nashville to his Facebook fans. Posting videos of the actual recording sessions, Talbot's Facebook Fan Page received over 2 million views.
The digital release is almost two months ahead of the actual CD release scheduled for June 21, 2011. Talbot says, "The Nashville Facebook event coupled with the preview of the new songs during my tour has fan interest at a high."
Talbot continued, "We are excited to bring this special digital release of 'Worship and Bow Down' to my supporters on Facebook and the JohnMichaelTalbot.com website. This is our first release with the advent of new social communication, so we are jazzed to be able and offer it to our special friends and co-workers in Christ and the Church!"
Of special interest to Catholics, included in "Worship and Bow Down" is John Michael's new "Mass of Rebirth" (New Roman Missal translation) in a "Contemporary Chant" setting.
For "Worship and Bow Down" Talbot teamed with the largest Catholic music publisher, OCP (Oregon Catholic Press). OCP Publisher John Limb states, "No one bridges the two musical worlds of Catholic liturgical music and Contemporary Christian music like John Michael Talbot. Like he did with The Lord's Supper many years ago, this new recording will bring the beauty of the mass, and the new translation of the Roman Missal, to many, many ears and hearts. Similarly, the songs are vintage John Michael Talbot: scriptural, melodic and very musical - just beautiful."
Of the 17 tracks on "Worship and Bow Down," overwhelming favorites on tour are the new compositions "Hail Mary," "Breathe," "In Remembrance of Me" and "Jesus Prayer."
The radio debut for "Worship and Bow Down" is set for June 13, 2011 on SIRIUS Satellite's "Sounds from the Spires" (SIRIUS 159 and XM 117).
