Johnson & Johnson app makes it a snap to help students with United Way

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Johnson & Johnson, with an exclusive partnership at Walmart, just launched a new back to school campaign with United Way to support students through mentoring and tutoring, in order to ultimately improve their school grades and attendance. Donate a Photo is a free app (available on Android and iOS devices) from Johnson & Johnson that turns users' photos into a way to do good. For every photo uploaded to United Way through the Donate a Photo app, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to United Way education programs.

Getting involved is easy:

1. Download the free Donate a Photo app for iPhone: www.bit.ly/donateaphoto_iphone_jnj or Android: www.bit.ly/donateaphoto_android_jnj
2. Snap a picture or upload an existing photo, select United Way as the cause, and Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to help students.  
3. Spread the word by sharing donated pictures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, with hashtags #JNJ and #donateaphoto to get colleagues, friends and family to donate as well.

People can donate one photo each day. The app also lets you see and share the impact of each uploaded photo. Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to United Way for each photo donated until October 14, 2014 or until $50,000 is raised. United Way will receive a minimum of $30,000.

As a result, fewer young Americans are likely to earn a diploma than their parents— a distinction not shared by any other industrialized country.
