Jon Cheffings Joins COMMONGROUND/MGS as EVP, Performance & Optimization

CHICAGO, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- COMMONGROUND/MGS announced today that veteran industry strategist Jon Cheffings has joined the agency as EVP, Performance & Optimization.

In this newly created role, Cheffings will act as an internal guide to help navigate the phases of change for the newly merged entity. He will also ensure alignment around the common vision, build the appropriate skills to reinforce the delivery of that vision, and help clients flourish and grow through the changes.

This is CEO Sherman Wright's first key hire since the agency merger of Commonground, The Vidal Partnership and MGSCOMM.

Prior to joining the agency, Cheffings was the Managing Director, Communications Strategy at Mindshare where he led BP Corporate, BP Fuels, Castrol, Dyson and Purina.

Jon Cheffings started his 20+ year advertising/marketing career in London with Saatchi & Saatchi before moving to Boase Massimi Pollitt (now renamed DDB London and widely considered to be the agency that created the Account Planning discipline) where he became an Account Planner.  His agency experience also includes stints at Ogilvy & Mather, DDB Chicago, Saatchi X and UpShot.

Jon has worked across a number of market categories and international brands including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, AT&T, Quaker Oats, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Disney, Safeway and Walgreens.
