Jostens Launches Monarch™ Cloud Service for Yearbook Creation
MINNEAPOLIS, April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jostens, the market leader of yearbooks and student-created content, today announced Monarch™, an industry first on-demand, dynamic provisioning service platform for yearbook creation. Monarch by Jostens gives schools private, secure access to the latest best-in-class Adobe Photoshop CC and InDesign CC software.
With Monarch, schools never have to worry about outdated hardware or software, purchasing product upgrades, or availability of technical support and resources that are limited to the classroom or computer lab. By eliminating the ongoing investment needed to support their computer labs, Monarch saves schools' resources at a time when budgets are constrained.
In a group of schools already using Monarch to create their 2015 yearbooks, students and advisers agree Monarch transforms the way they create yearbooks, resulting in increased efficiency, unprecedented flexibility, and collaboration.
"In less than six months, Monarch has revolutionized my classroom. The most obvious change that Monarch has allowed is the ability for students to access their yearbook materials from home, while using industry standard software," said Rebecca Plumley, journalism teacher and yearbook adviser, Stony Point High School.
"I have been stressed about how I would continue to maintain our computers," said Tessa Shirley, adviser, North Hall High School. "Using Monarch has eliminated all of those worries."
"Monarch provides advisers and students the flexibility to work on their yearbooks when and where they want; dramatically transforming the yearbook curation workflow and collaboration to suit the specific needs of the advisers and students. The flexibility provided by Monarch eliminates the need of the advisers, students and parents to plan their schedules around classroom and lab time. Students no longer need to spend their nights and weekends at their school in order to have access to resources," said Murad Velani, chief operating officer, Jostens. "We are excited to offer an industry first yearbook technology and service platform that gives schools access to software and tools they have already come to know and love."
Monarch is just the latest example of Jostens bringing technology innovation to schools. In 2012 Jostens launched ReplayIt®, the company's mobile photo storage and sharing service for yearbook creation; in 2013 Jostens developed the first tablet-based project management app for yearbooks in the Yearbooker's Field Kit™, and in 2014 Jostens launched the SchoolWay™ mobile app to allow schools to quickly communicate with their community, and community members to connect with their schools.
