Juan Pablo Cappello honored by ACQ Law Awards as the Leading Corporate/M&A Lawyer in Latin America

Since 2008, the ACQ Law Awards have celebrated achievement, innovation and brilliance within the field of law, with a legitimately independent nomination process, where award winners are chosen by members of the industry.  Every year, ACQ reaches out for industry assistance in recognizing leaders, eminent individuals, exemplary teams and distinguished firms.

Cappello who recently founded Private Advising Group, a boutique Law Firm focused on advising international clients and was a Principal Shareholder in the Latin American Group of Greenberg Traurig, an international firm with 2,000 lawyers. He was a partner in and director of Patagon.com, which was sold to Banco Santander in a transaction valued at over $750 million.

Recently, Cappello was also recently named one of the Most Influential Hispanics in the areas of science and technology by Poder Magazine, the 2013 Lawyer of the Year in derivatives and futures law from the Miami area by Best Lawyer, and in 2012 he was selected as a Top 50 Entrepreneur by Business Leader magazine.

He is also a well-known entrepreneur, deeply involved in supporting venture capital in Latin America. He was a co-founder of idea.me, Latin America's first crowdfunding site, and Sauber Energy, a company in Chile focused on creating green energy by resolving the problem of harmonics in the electrical grid.

He is a serial seed investor as well, supporting many projects including the international music site Senzari, the regional travel site Urbita, and LinkedStore, an Argentinian site supporting SMEs.

Cappello also serves on the advisory board of the Pino Entrepreneurship Center at Florida International University, as well as the advisory board of the Institute of Global International Effectiveness at the Kelly School of Management, Indiana University. He is also a Senior Advisor for Endeavor.org and serves on the Legal Committee of the Latin American Venture Capital Association.
