Julian Brown Joins Update Legal as Executive Vice President

NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Update Legal is proud to announce the addition of Julian Brown to our team.  Julian will be taking on the role of Executive Vice President, and will lead the entire Sales and Marketing organization.  Julian has a long history of success in the eDiscovery and Staffing industry, and we expect him to have an immediate impact at Update Legal.

Julian started his professional career as an associate attorney in the McLean, Virginia office of Venable (then, Venable Baetjer and Howard).  He spent four years with Venable, practicing litigation and government contracts law, before moving into litigation support.  In 1999 he joined Compliance, a DC Area based document review and legal staffing company, in a Business Development role.  He was promoted to President of that company in 2008, and served in that capacity until stepping down in 2013.  In 2014, he launched a new legal staffing company, Clearwater Legal, which he sold in November 2014 to Choice Legal.  He stayed on as a partner of Clearwater until January 2016, after which he joined LDiscovery (now KrolLdiscovery), a nationwide eDiscovery and managed review provider, where he served as Vice President of Business Development before joining Update Legal.

A lifelong resident of Northern Virginia, Julian attended the University of Virginia where he graduated with a BA in economics in 1988.  He remained in Charlottesville and attended the UVA School of Law, graduating in 1991 with a juris doctorate.
