Further Plans to Expand Include Delivery Service Expansion to 20 Major Cities Across Canada
TORONTO, Nov. 17, 2014 /CNW/ - JUST EAT, Canada's largest and fastest-growing online restaurant and food ordering service is once again setting a new precedent in growth as the largest online and food-ordering platform in western Canada. The news coincides with the acquisition of Edmonton-based Delivery Town and comes after a wildly successful year of expansion including partnerships in the following cities; Vancouver (Daily Delivery), Saskatoon (Can U Deliver), Calgary (Empire Delivery) and Winnipeg (Mobile Maître D).
Much like JUST EAT, Delivery Town is also an online restaurant and food-ordering platform that was started in Edmonton in 2010 by co-founders Sachin Gupta, Prem Eruvbetine and Ming Lo. "We were very excited when JUST EAT approached us. With JUST EAT's national presence and bigger marketing budget, it will be able to bring even more value to Edmonton restaurants and clients," says Gupta.
Edmonton is a very important and fast-growing market for JUST EAT. The western Canada sales force is vastly expanding its restaurant offering and the implementation of a new exclusive-to-JUST EAT third-party delivery service is on its way. "Edmonton will be the eighth city that JUST EAT will be offering its exclusive fleet of delivery service providers" states Todd Masse, JUST EAT Canada's Managing Director, "this comes mere months after its successful launch in Toronto, and is the first in our aggressive 20-city expansion plan that will be executed nationally in 2015." JUST EAT has already seen tremendous success with its delivery service in Montreal and Saskatoon, which started prior to its Toronto Launch.
JUST EAT's expansion will be the focus of 2015, with nearly double the amount of marketing dollars being allocated to promoting the JUST EAT app and website. Additionally, the company will introduce brand new ad campaigns like the #minifistpump: a celebration of the small victories in life, like getting the exit aisle on a flight, putting on an old coat and finding money or ordering sushi and getting free handrolls.
