JustFoodForDogs and Pizzana Introduce Special Edition Pup Pizza: The Original Fresh Pizza for Dogs

Dog-friendly take on Neapolitan tradition launches at Pizzana locations in Southern California and Texas

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- JustFoodForDogs, the #1 vet-recommended fresh dog food brand, and Pizzana, the award-winning pizza restaurant founded in California, have teamed up to launch Pup Pizza, the original fresh pizza for dogs. The launch represents a new partnership between the pioneering brand in science-backed dog food nutrition and the popular pizza purveyor. Pup Pizza will be available as a special edition menu item at Pizzana locations starting on August 26, just in time to celebrate National Dog Day.

"Pizza night is a beloved family ritual, and as we look for new ways to make mealtime more exciting for dogs, we knew we wanted to create a healthy way for pups to join in on the pizza night tradition," said Natalie Lykins, brand partnerships manager at JustFoodForDogs. "Pizzana's commitment to quality ingredients mirrors our own, and together, we've crafted a fresh, dog-friendly take on a classic, rooted in whole-food nutrition."

Pizzana Founder Candace Nelson adds, "We believe great food brings people together, and now we can invite our pets into the experience too. The Pup Pizza combines our love of Neapolitan tradition with JustFoodForDogs' nutritional expertise, so the whole family, including four-legged members, can enjoy pizza night together."

The JustFoodForDogs x Pizzana Pup Pizza menu item was developed in close partnership with the JustFoodForDogs nutrition team. In-house experts reviewed all ingredients to ensure the final pizza formulation was fit for dog consumption, and most importantly, passed the taste tests of discerning pups.

The dough in the 3.5-inch Pup Pizza recipe blends only flour and water. A velvety pumpkin is whipped with scent-enticing peanut butter as a tomato sauce replacement, while potato cubes act as a cheese substitute. The pie is finished with JustFoodForDogs' single ingredient Pork Treats as a safe alternative for pepperoni.

JustFoodForDogs and Pizzana launched their partnership at an exclusive event at the Pizzana Sherman Oaks location on August 23 to the delight of hungry dog diners. The special Pup Pizza menu item will roll out across all Pizzana locations in Southern California and Texas on August 26, retailing for $8.00 plus applicable local taxes.
