K12 Student Zach Bonner Completes Cross Country Walk to Raise Awareness for Homeless Youth

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, K12 Inc. congratulated Zach Bonner on completing his walk across the U.S. to raise awareness for homeless youth.  Zach, who is a student enrolled in K12's Florida Virtual Program through the Hillsborough County school district, founded The Little Red Wagon Foundation in 2005 at the young age of seven. Over the past nine months, he has walked 2,478 miles from Tampa to Los Angeles. His journey ends today at the Santa Monica Pier.

Zach became involved in community service in 2004 after Hurricane Charlie hit Florida when he helped collect and deliver clean water to those in need in his "little red wagon."  Since then, Zach has dedicated his life to philanthropic endeavors.  In 2009, Zach walked from his home in Tampa, Florida to Washington, D.C. to help raise awareness of homeless youth.  Zach has met President Clinton and President Bush, receiving a Presidential Service Award and other honors for his community service and commitment to serving others.
