K2 Adds Microsoft Power BI Integration in New Preview Program for Appit
Available via a new preview program for the Appit cloud service, Power BI makes it easier for customers to accelerate insights to further improve their business processes.
BELLEVUE, Wash., March 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- K2 Software today announced a new integration with Microsoft Power BI, enabling customers to visualize K2 process data and make better-informed decisions that will further transform and optimize their business processes.
"A key aspect of digital transformation involves utilizing data to make decisions to drive more efficiency in the business," said Karri Alexion-Tiernan, VP of Product Marketing, K2. "By collaborating with Microsoft, we are able to visualize K2 data and make it accessible in ways that were not previously possible. Our customers will be able to easily utilize Power BI's robust data visualization to make more informed decisions that will help optimize their business processes."
The integration with Power BI is enabled by K2's SmartObject OData API, which provides a powerful new way to use third-party reporting tools with K2's native process data as well as third-party line-of-business data. To make it easier for customers to accelerate insights into their business processes, K2 has also created Process Analytics templates for Power BI Desktop. A content pack is also available for Power BI online in the Power BI AppSource gallery.
"We're pleased to work with K2 to expand the BI capabilities available in the K2 low-code process automation platform," said John Doyle, senior director, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Corp. "Power BI makes it easy to visualize the process data generated with compelling interactive reports that are always up to date so organizations can make quick, informed decisions."
The new capabilities are available as part of a new Technology Preview Program for K2 Appit for Microsoft SharePoint. This program allows customers to try new features, and provide crucial feedback on them before they're made generally available. Also included in the preview are out-of-the-box Process Reports for real-time visibility and in-depth insights into your data.
The K2 blog has more detailed information on the new program and as the integrated capabilities with Power BI. In addition, K2 and Microsoft will host a webinar on March 16 at 9 a.m. PT (noon ET) and registration is currently open. Users interested in accessing preview features can opt-in to the Preview Program within the K2 Management portal by clicking on the Preview badge on any respective features.
