Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at University of Alabama chooses Frendo's Fee-Free Platform to start the school year by giving back to the Community
TUSCALOOSA, AL, Aug. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Back to school means back to giving for the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority - Gamma Pi Chapter at University of Alabama. While the sorority sisters get back into the school routine, Kappa Kappa Gamma members are using frendo to support their national philanthropy program "Reading is Fundamental". KKG is using frendo, the first-ever fee-free donation platform to support their charity because it is the only online platform for donors, fundraisers and charities that eliminates all fees to charities so every penny donated ends up in the pocket of the charity and not in the pockets of credit card companies and online merchants.
"We are proud of our strong leadership and high ideals for our community that have been upheld since our founding in 1927, and we are committed to helping children achieve their potential in any way we can," says Riley Frances Boone, Philanthropy Chair of Kappa Kappa Gamma - Gamma Pi Chapter at University of Alabama. "Frendo is such an amazing way for all of us Kappas throughout the country to band together and give, if even a little bit, to Reading is Fundamental and make a huge difference in the lives of children."
For one week starting on August 22nd, frendo will feature Reading is Fundamental as Charity of the Week. The charity was selected not only in the spirit of school starting, but also because of its skillful use of social media and its connection to such a strong group of supporters with powerful voices and activism.
The team behind Frendo built a stable technology that is safe and secure and gives people the chance to donate as much or as little as they want to their favorite charities fee-free and on a regular basis. In 2009, an estimated $30 billion dollars was donated online, yet due to various fees which range from 1.75% to 8% over $1 billion in donations didn't reach charities. Frendo is revolutionizing people's giving habits by creating free marketing and promotional campaigns for charities predominantly through social media rails. Frendo turns charities' donors into fundraisers through instant connectivity to Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, etc. and helps charities reach fundraising goals with an endless cycle of giving through frendo.
"We are proud to be the first platform for giving of its kind and are thrilled to work with the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority as they realize the great potential frendo has to be the new standard of giving," says Andy Quinn, Co-Founder and CEO of Frendo.
Frendo provides an online social platform that enables people to send donations fee-free and securely to their favorite charities. This platform is designed for people who are connected by their common desire to take action and provide funding for worthy charities. Frendo acquired Broker Processing Services, Inc. in 2010, a company with seven years of experience in safe funds transfer. With offices in Fairfield, CT and Calgary, AB, Frendo looks to be a leading source of online connections for charities and their donors.
